So... you think cropping images at ImageMagick is a pain? so you take your images to Magick to change them into a .gif and then have to go to GifWorks to use the little arrow cropping thingy?

I will show you just how easy it IS to crop at Magick, and I guarantee you that you won't think twice about it from now on... trust me LOL
We are going to use Maude for this demonstration, she's not happy about it, but I made her do it anyway.. so please say thanks to Maude when you are done. O.K. lets do it!!
This is Maude with her sides cut off ACK! I cut 20 pixels off the left side +20 and 20 pixels off the top +20 the PLUS NUMBERS are always for the
LEFT SIDE & TOP
so, to get this done you:
Go to TRANSFORM
in the parameter slot you type the widthxheight of the image IT IS ALWAYS WIDTH X HEIGHT
and after the widthxheight with no space between, type how many pixels you want cut off.
So now it looks like this:
245x225+20+20
now just click the crop light and go down and click the Transform button you will then be shown your image with those parts cropped off!! woo hoo!
If you mess up, just use your BACK KEY to go back and change it.
This is Maude with the right side and bottom cropped off. which are the NEGATIVE NUMBERS.
Again, put in the width x height in the parameter slot, with no space between, put in the numbers for the right side and bottom crop, so it looks like this:
245x225-20-20
click the transform button, and you will see your image with the right side and bottom cropped off.
You can also crop the left side and bottom, using a POSITIVE number +20 and a NEGATIVE number -20 so the numbers would look like this:
245x225+20-20
Just remember the WIDTH NUMBER COMES FIRST, THEN THE HEIGHT NUMBER
You can do the same for the right and top, using a NEGATIVE NUMBER and a POSITIVE NUMBER so it looks like this:
245x225-20+20
width x height, change the size of the image as you crop each time (it shows you the size of the graphic each time down in the status bar on your screen)
In case you want to only crop one width with no height off or one height with no width you can do this:
245x225+20+0 or 245x225-20-0
or for a height with no width do this:
245x225+0+20 or 245x225-0-20
Just remember it is always
WIDTH FIRST THEN HEIGHT
** You must click the TRANSFORM TAB each time you complete a satisfactory crop, and want to make more crops. **

See, I told you this was easy as pie, a piece of cake! LOL Once you do it a few times, it becomes so easy. Just take an old graphic to Magick and practice on it, soon you will get 'the eye' for judging how much a pixel is and how much you want to crop.
