ENHANCE
Here are some of the things that the Enhance features can do to an image.
   NORMALIZE
this is _normalize_ with the number changed to _2.3_ this number will take a washed-out picture and 'perk it up'
   NEGATE
Negate does just that, it makes the _opposite color_ blue becomes red, red becomes an aqua blue, black becomes white etc
   EQUALIZE
Equalize is similar to normalize, but does not need a _parameter number_ it equalized dark and light contrasts.
   BRIGHTNESS
Brightness parameters start at 50.0 for the very darkest and go up to 300.0 or so. 300.0 is very bright and washes out most of the image into a glaring mess.
  other Enhance Effects

SPIFF: it enhances the picture somewhat, but does not really do much. no parameter number necessary.

DULL: kind of blah's out your image, does not do much, no parameter numbers necessary

SATURATE: this effects how much _color saturation_ is in your image, I use this to make a greyed image from a colored one by putting _10.0_ in the parameter slot. If you have an image with a lot of glaring red (for example) you can put 200.0 in the parameter slot and it will tone the colors down from such a high intensity.

GAMMA: is used when you threshold composite an image, it has _3 parameter numbers_ the first is for the RED scale and it starts at 0.1 and goes up, the second number is for the GREEN/YELLOW scale and starts at 0.1, the third number is for the BLUE scale and starts at 0.1, so you would have numbers like this in the parameter box for what you want to do to your image... 1.2/0.5/1.4 with a slash mark between the groups of numbers. You will see what I mean when you threshold comp.

LEVEL: effects the blacks, whites, greys in an image. also takes 3 parameter sets of numbers, I do not know much if anything about this feature.

   HUE
Hue changes the colors of the entire image, each image will be different, so it is hard to tell you the parameter numbers to use, but starting with a blue image, this is what they become.
