Take a transparent background to IM, in the size of 380x100
Go to DRAW and choose the 'round rectangle'. In the 'parms' box, put these numbers in...
+30+30+350+60-40+60
use Fill Color & Stroke Color of your choice... Stroke Width is 1
next 'parm setting' is:
+60+20+320+70-30+50.. reverse colors you have chosen
'last parm setting' is:
+90+10+290+80-30+50- reverse color choice again
if you have followed these steps as shown... you should get the above 'deco lite'
Take the above image back to IM...and 'rotate' either to the left OR right... so the lite is going 'vertical' ...rather then 'horizontal'...and this is what you will have

If you want to decorate the lites more..just add a 'ding' to it as I have done.
I achieved this by using a 'comma' ... yes you heard right a 'comma' ...then use the FLUERONS font ... point size 175 ... use fill color & stroke color of your choice.....
I used the settings of : 'gravity' NORTH- -5+55 for placement...
FLIP and using the same settings again...you will have the 'ding' on either end.
of course you may choose any font or none at all....
The possibilities are limitless.
In this case I made these seperately, output as a gif, and comped/over another image for a nice effect.
You can also do this right on your image if you choose.... but remember the lites you create with the steps I have shown you...will be horizontal...so if you want the lines to set at a 'vertical' postion ..you will have to rotate your image to accomodate the steps....
