On The Rock For Christmas (Joe West)

There's magic on the corner, a smile for everyone,
Newfie shoppers everywhere, it's a season full of fun;
There's a mummer at the front door with a carrot for a nose,
Children inside laughing, their eyes are all aglow.

I'm on the Rock for Christmas, the snow is on the ground,
Christmas lights are glowing in every island town;
The neighbours here are neighbours, and everything is grand,
There's nothing like a Christmas on the isle of Newfoundland.

My memory takes me back to a time so long ago,
When I used to watch for reindeer and their footprints in the snow;
Packages for Christmas are under every tree,
Santa Claus is coming, just you wait and see.

I'm on the Rock for Christmas, the snow is on the ground,
Christmas lights are glowing in every island town;
The neighbours here are neighbours, and everything is grand,
There's nothing like a Christmas on the isle of Newfoundland.
there's nothing like a christmas on the isle of newfoundland.
