Oh, the winter's night has such a bite,
As I stroll on down the lane;
And memories of days gone by,
Flood my mind again.
Christmas time many years ago,
Spent with family and friends;
A warm fire in every home,
Begs me to come in.
Christmas Eve was a special time,
Friends hurrying here and there;
Going 'bout from house to house,
Spreading Christmas cheer.
Kids all nestled for the night,
With quilts pulled to their chins;
And the knock on the old storm door:
Any Jannies 'lowed in?
It's Christmas time in my hometown,
How it's great to be home again;
Smiles greet you everywhere,
And everyone's your friend.
It's Christmas time in my hometown again.
Church chimes playing Silent Night,
Echos in Heritage Cove;
And softly rising into the night,
Is the smoke from the old woodstove.
Those childhood days are memories now,
Like yesteryear they're gone;
No more hockey in the paths,
Or up on Simon's Pond.
Christmas time in my hometown,
How it's great to be home again;
Smiles greet you everywhere,
And everyone's your friend.
Christmas time in my hometown again.
Oh, it's Christmas time in my hometown again.
