His starting weight was 17 1/2 pounds and his border wallpaper here shows how that looked on him. Below is how he looks now at 11 1/2 pounds. This weight loss occured between November and March and bloodwork did not show why until a T4 free test was run. He is taking a medicine called Tapazole and a compounding pharmacy has made it liquid and tuna flavored so he doesn't fight me at medicine time, in fact he thinks it is a treat. He will be receiving frequent Vet checkup and blood draws to check to see that the medicine is working and that he doesn't get any of the possible side effects.
Postscript~~After Precious went to Rainbow Bridge, I started noticing that TJ seems to have some trouble with his mouth, he started drooling and stopped eating dry food. I had him to the Vet for a dental cleaning. A mass was found on his left jaw and it was believed to be cancer. On June 22, 2004, at 15 3/4 years old, TJ went to Rainbow Bridge and was reunited with Precious. They were only parted for approximately seven weeks.
I miss them both more than I can say. This is the last picture I took of both of them together.
