I got TJ and Precious one month before I got out of the military in 1992. My Dad called me and asked if I wanted some cats. I said of course.
He was going to Georgia to visit my stepmom (then his girlfriend), who works at a veterinarian's office as an animal groomer.
TJ (Yellow tabby) and Precious (calico) had been boarded at the facility she works at for four months.
Their previous owner claimed she would come and get them, however she had not paid any of their boarding costs nor had she shown up to claim them after four months, so the vet there wanted to place them in new homes.
Dad went to visit my stepmom and then drove back from Georgia to Ohio with TJ and Precious.
When I left active duty a few weeks later, they were there at the house waiting for me. TJ was 3 1/2 years old and Precious was 2 1/2 when they came to live with me.
Dad moved to Georgia in 1992 after getting married and me and a couple of my sisters rented his duplex from him. In 1995 Dad sold the duplex he owned and Me, TJ and Precious moved to our new place in 1995.
Now, TJ is 15 years old and Precious is 14, both of them doing pretty good considering they are old folks now (grin).
