Bio on Matthew Jordan

I started drawing at the age of six. I drew monsters and ghosts. I was a big fan of Ghostbusters Movies and cartoon television series. To this Day; I'm still a fan of the Ghostbuster Cartoons. I drew these monsters on little notepads wherever I went, as a sort of pastime. Well, Time went on. The Ghostbusters Cartoons were taken off the air, after six years of being on. I, of course was saddened by that fact.

So I started drawing even more. Then in '92, saw a new source of interesting material to learn from. "Spawn", the comics, became my new thing. First I bought some of the toys (which ROCKED!) and then from there, started buying the comics. I became a big fan of the character "Violator" and started trying to draw this lovely Beast!

Then, in '95, I got my first REAL computer. I then started drawing on there more in the program called "Microsoft Paint". Though I had less control of the drawing, I could at least print tons of copies of the creature, if I saw it fit. I also found something else to get into in '95 - "Ozzy Osbourne"! I had heard his music for years, on the local radio; but never really enjoy his music. Well, I bought "Ozzmosis" by Ozzy Osbourne and instantly fell in love with it.

In '96, after starting High School, I decided to make an orderly set of my Artwork. This is where the First Page and Second Page of Art was formed. I started to dig around my old computer storage and look for creatures I had made. At the same time, I purchased a new Art Program called "PC Paintbrush". Great Program! Tons of new options to choose from! I re-made many creatures with this program. In fact, that's when I came up with my first six pictures. After Awhile I got to the point where I'd make a set (30) of images every 3 months. Then I also got the Adobe Photoshop program, which added many options to what I could do.

I started to enjoy Local music more, about a year after High School. My Art was getting better and better with each set. In 2003 I made a choice to move to FL thinking I'd find a way to build up my life even more. The end Result however was not so great, and I headed back home to Champaign, IL.

I then started making what would be My best set of art I ever did. Set 20 was a set all about Halloween, and may be the best art ever from me. One Reason I could think of, was I could really connect with what I was making. Second being I made the art in a bigger scale leaving me room to do more details. I even did research on many of the monsters to get the feel of what the monsters were all about.

I then after that found myself in a bit of a problem trying make even more interesting sets of art. Also, my computer was running out of memory. Set 21 basically was my last set. I then started having issues in my life by the fall of 2003. Anyways, I have had problems for over a year, till I left my job I was working at in November of 2004. After that, I went back to making Art in many ways. I Feel more alive than I have felt in years. I'm hoping to get my old art off my PC and onto Cdrom for safe keeping. Then I'll erase the files on my PC and start making new art images. I have a good many ideas for new art. I just need to work at it a bit, and I need to have a empty computer so I have lots of room to explore ideas.

Right now I'm now going to College at The Art Institute of Tampa, FL. My Major is Media Arts and Animation. Anyways I'm learning some new skills. Hopefully it will show soon in my artwork.

I really want to take my art to the next level, whatever that may be. I've also wanted to make Cards, Toys, T-Shirts, Comics, Album Covers, and Video games. That's what I like to do. I love this stuff and want to make it myself.
