Scarista Beach, Isle of Harris

Beautiful Alba

The largest island of the Outer Hebrides is split into two parts, Lewis to the north, covers roughly two thirds of the island and is largely flat. Harris occupies the remaining third and is quite different in character, being rugged and hilly, and arguably the finest unspoilt wilderness in the country. Clisham, in North Harris, is the highest point in the Herbrides at 800m. Crossing the peninsula at Tarbert and exploring South Harris will reveal beautiful beaches and stunning views to Skye and North Uist.
