Music Biography

from 1994-2004
Ray's music successes include
Ray Bruce & The Wildbunch were appearing at Oklahoma Clubs,
Festivals, hole in the whole bars, Theme Parks, Theatres and State Fairs.

In January 1994 Ray began entertaining
at the Oklahoma Opry in Oklahoma City.
The Oklahoma Opry
awarded Ray Bruce their 1995-96
"Traditional Vocalist of theYear"

In the Summer of 1996 Ray Bruce & The Wildbunch:
John Driftwood-bass, Buddy Knight-drums,
Jim Phillips-lead and Jerry Morphis-keyboard
released "The Oklahoma Sessions" containing eight
Ray Bruce originals recorded at Del McCoy Studios in Okc,Ok.

From 1995 through 1998
Ray performed for many
"Hank Williams Sr. Society & International Fan Club"
events in Montgomery & Georgiana, Alabama.


Ray Bruce opens for Hank III

Ray recalls fondly the unique opportunity
to opened for Hank Williams III,
for Hank3's debut in Montgomery, Alabama September 15, 1995
for the annual Hank Sr. birthday celebration.
Other acts Ray has opened for there have included
- Hank Williams' Original Drifting Cowboys with Jett -
Pirates of the Mississippi Confederate RailRoad
Mustang Sally and Gene Watson.

Ray sends many extended thanks to Mary Wallace
President of The International Hank Williams Fan Club

In April of 1997
Ray was invited to entertain in Nashville, Tennessee
at various well established clubs on Printer's Alley -

"Skull" Shulman & Ray
Skull's Shulman's "Rainbow Room" and "Barbara's"
where he was backed by Ernest Tubb's famous band
"The Texas Troubadours" Thanks for the spot Pete Mitchell !

From 1998 - 2001

Ray appeared at Bill Brown's Oklahoma Jubilee.
On October 14, 2000 Ray was extremly honored to open for
"The Queen Of Country Music" Kitty Wells on her "Farewell Tour"
along wih her famous husband Johnny Wright & their son Bobby Wright.

Every last Saturday in September
Ray performs for his good friend Dennis Davis

...promoting his Interstate-40 Country News Magazine's
at the Annual Okie Knob Farm Show & BarB-Q in Minco, Oklahoma.
Alot of appreciation goes out to Dennis Davis...
he along with Cowboy Jack is the reason Ray recieved the opportunity
to perform for many Hank Williams Sr. Festivals in Alabama.

In 1999 Ray became known as the Oklahoma F-5 Surviving Troubadour
when the May 3rd Tornado hit his home in Oklahoma.
Ray went on hiatus from the stage to recover,
relocate and write some songs.
