NOTE to lurkers & snaggers - You are welcome to do the project, but DO NOT snag the images from this tute and post them in any other group.
Koya Image Magic There is a new function at IM called "Unique Colors". It is currently available only on the above IM. It is located under the transform tab. A quick and eeeeeeeZ way to make a nice backdrop or bar. It's come to my attention that someone thinks I didn't play fair with this tute. I have not had time to lurk much lately, so was not aware the material had already been presented in another group. I did my own thing using my own curiosity. So, for anyone who is interested, here is the original post about this new feature. If the injured party had simply written to me, I would surely have added a link to it from the beginning. Original Info on Unique Colors Make Your Own Unique Colors My Instructions based on my experience: You can use any gif with a transparent background, or a jpg (see note below re jpgs) that has been converted to a gif. Input the gif and go to TRANSFORM. Click on the unique color button and then click transform. Next page will be a bar - width will depend on number of colors in your image, and it will be 1 pixel in height. Go to resize and make it any size you want. Below are my practice pieces. Original Result - resized to 300x300 For this one I cropped off the really dark left side, rotated it and then used gamma to lighten it up a bit. Maiden NOTE - If you use a jpg (don't forget to convert to a gif, first) with a lot of colors, you will have a bit of a wait while IM does it's thing. Also, the bar like image may be huge in length, and you will get a pop-up that says "too big for use". Just clear the pop-up and continue on to resize. I used this eagle and the bar was 18640 x 1. It may have been a glitch, but once resized, the pop-up goes away. August 11 - See Flo's instructions on how to handle a jpg, on the link above - Make Your Own Unique Colors. So, I'm guessing the more colors in your image, the longer the bar will be, as it spans all the colors across the width of the bar. Colors run from dark to light, so if it is a really dark image & you don't like the left side, just crop it off. You may run into some images that simply won't work for webbys because they will time out. Time will tell. Have FUN! |
