Image Magic NEW Using Jpgs & Emboss A quick and eeeeeeeZ way to make a nice backdrop for those ratty gifs. If you use black for the bgcolor, it looks like a mask. If you use white, it hides the white jaggies. I have only tried this at the IM linked above. Don't know if it will work the same at all of them. You can use any gif with a transparent background. I used this duck Make a white or black xc, size 450x350. Note - when using other gifs, allow about a 50x50 pixel border larger than the gif you are working with, to give you enough room for the spread & emboss. Composite the image, OVER, center. Effects = SPREAD @30 Effects = EMBOSS @ 3x5 If you are using a white bgcolor, the emboss will be dark, so go to ENHANCE and choose gamma. I used 4.6 on this one. You can adjust to suit your taste. Then comp the duck again using OVER, same co-ords. Example on white For the black bgcolor at the top of the page, I comp'd the duck using MULTIPLY, then BUMPMAP. I like the texture it added to the image. Comping over will look similar to the white one. Trim and output and save as a jpg. Couple more examples, using these flowers On a black bg. After the emboss, resized larger, then comp DSTOUT. Paint the cutout area black for a nice silohuette On a white bg. After the emboss. Gamma 2.6. Resized larger, Comp the flowers DSTOUT, center. Paint the cutout area white. Comp the flowers BUMPMAP, center +2+2. Results Have FUN! |
