Using sink (located under the decorate tab) is one of my fav ways to add interest to an image. But, not in the usual 20x20 way used for framing.

There are 4 - 6 steps to this technique, depending on your tastes.

Choose an image and head to IM. Enter the url.

(01) - Color, Reset...color of your choice.

(02) - Decorate - use 1/3 of the image width for your parameter. So, if the image is 300x ???, you would use 100x0. Click the sink (sunken) button

(03) - Composite the original DISPLACE. (3B) Repeat this comp if you want more distortion. (3C) Or flip the image, then comp displace.

(04) - Composite/s of your choice. I used bumpmap for the image at the top, after a breviated dot tone. (colormap = black&white, dither, 100 colors) Then, one more sink with the same parameters.

That's it! Embellish as you wish, frame and sign

Results will depend on color chosen for reset, and, of course, the image.

Both of these were comp'd difference.
