Was messing around at IM with this globe thingy I made, and just didn't want a plain ole globe. So I tried wave on it. Ah Ha! I like it - hope you do, too. Choose one of these 4 globes: 1 2 3 4 And you'll need an image or a background to composite. Enter the url for the globe 1st, and then go to composite. Comp the image using multiply. If it's too dark, go to enhance, choose gamma 1.6, to lighten it up. Output and save - DO NOT trim or crop yet. FInd a font you like, grab your comp'd globe and head back to IM. Go to annotate. Position your name so it's just slightly on the base of the globe. See my example above. Next, go to F/X. Choose wave. In the text box type 65x700. If you read the "How to Wave Your Name" tute, you know that the 2nd number must be double the width of your image. All of the blank globes are 350x350, so double that is 700. You can play with the 1st number to see which effect you like best. Anything from 50 - 75 should work nicely. I used 65. Paint the white areas using a high fuzz & floodfill, then crop off any execess. You will/may also need to paint the corners. If you output the image you'll see some gray areas at the corners. Just touch each corner with the pointer, using fuzz 9999 & floodfill. You can also use a negative for the 2nd number - that will curve your name down instead of up, & make an egg shaped globe. I used 65x-700. Example Have fun! İMay26, 2005 ~ MsV aka Chocolata Please do not reproduce this tutorial in any way. Share the page. Club Chocolata |
