NOTE to lurkers & snaggers - You are welcome to do the project, but DO NOT snag the images from this tute and post them in any other group.
Koya Image Magic More Pop Art This is a fun and easy way to dress up a black and white image or photo. Choose your image and make note of it's size. You will need to resize the template to fit the image. If the image you like is colored, take it to IM, and use colormap on it. Choose gray from the check boxes. I've made a few templates to get you started, but you can easily make your own. Just make several rectangles or squares of varying shades of white, gray and black, or use all pastel colors. Then composite them all on a larger blank in any configuration you like. Even easier for those of you who like to draw. 01 02 03 04 05 There are 2 ways to do this, depending on the look you want. You can go all black and white - Example Or you can color (paint) some or all of the blocks - Example For the one at the top of the page, I used this original and this painted template . Resized the image, comp'd the template using hardlight. Out and save. Backed up to before the comp, cropped a bit off the template, rotated it, resized and comp'd saved url using threshold. For this original I used this painted template , comp'd multiply for this result . These comps work best when using colored templates: Multiply for nice color. Threshold for a softer look. Difference or colorburn for a dramatic look. Hardlight for a mixture of soft and dark. For the black, gray & white templates, threshold works best. Have FUN! Both original images came from Susan's great collection. |
