Redux Arbor Here's a quick and easy way to dramatically change an image, especially for the fans of black backgrounds. Three basic steps: (01) Edge Detect - 1x1 to 2x4. (02) Motion Blur 0x20 - 0x30 (any direction you want) (03) Edge Detect - 1x1, 2x2, or 3x3. Then a comp of your choice. Colorburn and hardlight seem to work the best. Here are a few examples: The leaves are a gif, so I comp'd them over a white bg. (doesn't matter what color you use, ED will turn the bg black.) ED 2x3, MB - 0x25 +35, ED 1x1, comp bumpmap, normalize. Original Result Fall scene - 1x1 ED, MB - 0x20 -65, ED 2x2, comp colorburn, brightness@180, saturation@180. Original Result Flower - ED 1x2, MB - 0x30 -65, 3x3 ED, comp saturate, comp colorburn, bright@180. Original Result Black & White Face - 2x4 ED, MB - 0x30 +95, ED 1x1, comp hardlight, bright@200. This one blew me away with the dfference! Original Result Finish with any other effects you like. Adaptive sharpen and adaptive blur do nice things. And try normalize, under enhance to bring up the colors. Have FUN! If you need pics here are some great resources: Susan's You will need to use your fav extractor for these 2.
