Version 2
Snaggers - you are welcome to make the globe, but do not snag the images from this page or directory to post as 'shares' in any group. Post this page if you wish to share. Koya Images you'll need. This is the easiest way I've found to make a realistic snow globe at IM. Making it with the base made the bytes way to high, and optimizing deteriorated the transparency of the globe to ugly! So, A happy medium! Make the globe portion, and animate it. Then make the base, seperately. The globes are pngs, and hold the transparency and highlights really well. Here we go. I have numbered the images, so that you can just change the file name, ie snow1, globe2, as you proceed with your composites. Please read and follow the instructions exactly, or your globe won't animate properly. CCP the url for snow1 in your find box. Grab the poinsettia. At IM make a 250x250 black xc. (note you can use any bgcolor you want, black just seems the best to me) Composite the poinsettia OVER @ center. Composite snow1 OVER @ center. Composite globe1 or globe2 OVER @ center. Either globe will work - I used #2 Output and save as 1.jpg. Repeat the entire above proceedure, changing just the snow to snow2. Output & save this one as 2.jpg Repeat the entire above proceedure, changing just the snow to snow3. Output & save this one as 3.jpg Make a temp directory to hold just the 3 jpgs. Move them to that directory. It should look like this: Directory Use your goto button to get the url of that directory. It should look like this: http://wtv-zone.com/MsV2/1-Globes/2/ Enter that url at IM. Go to output and choose gif & multifile. Scroll down and put 30 in the delay box. Output, and ccp that temp url and go to Gifworks. At Gifworks, smart crop, then resize - I resized to 160x164. If you optimize, don't do it by much. The 'globe' edges and transparency will begin to deteriorate. My globe is 50 K, with no optimizing. You can make the base from a dingbat, or any image that will work. I used a dingbat filled with a gold bg. Trim the base. Then just put them together like this: <<>img src= "http://wtv-zone.com/MsV2/1-Globes/done.gif"> <<>br> <<>img src= "http://wtv-zone.com/MsV2/1-Globes/base.png"> Note - I tried doing this on a transparent bg, so we could use the table code and move the globe down on to the base. But at output, even as a png, the image looked awful. I also tried it with just 2 frames - blech! Once you have the hang of it, try other Christmas images in place of the poinsettia and maybe use the stars for the animation. Stagger the stars on each of the 3 frames. Your Christmas image should be no bigger than 130wx165h. If you aren't into globes, you could make an ornament name tag that loads in a flash. Resize the globe to 90x ?? and use the code provided. Have FUN! İNovember 24, 2006 Gnubee & Choco Do not reproduce or duplicate this tute. Do not post the steps Please post the page. |
